Baby Crying Language : How a Baby Communicates with their Parents
When my baby blues started to go away, and I felt much better from C-section then I was just hoping that I know why my baby cries. One day, as I was sharing mommy/newborn information with my friend online; I read about "Decoding Baby Cry" in one of my favorite pregnancy application "The Bump", so I shared it with my friend who also gave birth recently. Then she shared a video link of a lady who is expert in translating baby's cry. Oh wow! I couldn't believe that every cry of a baby means something specific. There are different sounds in every cry that is the way of communication for this little humans. For example: Neh means” I am hungry”
For the first 3 months this helped me a lot. I just tried to listen to my baby carefully to learn the her language. This gave me confidence in taking care of her and ease my mind because I knew I can make my baby calm and comfortable.
Gas pain, sleep , and hunger are three most important needs of every newborn and distinguishing each of them in baby’s cry did certainly help me to comfort my baby with more confidence, so I thought this might be useful for other wonderful mommies as well.
These are 3 sounds you can hear in your newborn’s cry:
Neh – hunger
Eh – burp
Owh – sleepiness
I also found a YouTube video from one of Oprah Winfrey's show with her guest who is expert in decoding baby’ cry language.
If you feel this helpful, feel free to share this page with your other friend mommies too.
