Family Fun Trip to Niagara Falls with a Small Child in Winter
My husband & I had done many trips to Niagara region when we were couple; but this time we wanted to travel with our 3 year old and we knew we had to plan for sth different this time. A trip that will be fun for us as a family.
We planned for 2 nights trip to Niagara with our preschooler and I can tell you it was one of my memorable trips. All three of us enjoyed it a lot.
I thought it would be nice if It share our itinerary with parents of small children.
We chose to stay two nights in Wolf Lodge Resort so we could have done some indoor activities while we can spend time in cold winter days.
Day 1
We left Toronto after breakfast, and had a stop at a café for a quick coffee. We arrived Niagara early afternoon so we had our lunch at a luxury restaurant in Peller Estates Winery. The food was delicious.
Then we enjoyed a unique marshmallow roasting on a campfire while we enjoyed a glass of ice wine. They also had crackers and chocolate that my daughter enjoyed. It was a cold day and seating by the campfire was so great but at the same time we enjoyed a short distance walk in the winery as a family. We booked our marshmallow ahead of time here , but the winery also was offering non seating marshmallow & Ice wine for those who walked-in.
Then we left the winery to our resort and after an hour rest, we spent 2 hours in the indoor water park. They had 4 different size slides for little children. There was a beach stimulation section with waves in the park that was great to enjoy as a family.
After pool, we had our dinner at a buffet restaurant inside the resort. They had variety of food to choose from so even though you have a picky eater, It is guarantee that your child would eat.
DAY 2
Breakfast buffet at the resort was a good option, then we visited butterfly conservatory. The conservatory was indoor and warm so another good option for cold winter days with kids. After having lunch at a restaurant in Niagara on the lake, we came back to our resort for another fun water park. On our second day, we also enjoyed the indoor hot spas. The spa was also safe for small children as the temperature was not like adult spa. It was the first time my daughter experienced the hot spa and we all loved it.
After pool we all danced in the lobby of the resort. The resort has dance & music for all ages in the lobby at night time which is great for small kids to release their energy.
We did a little shopping at the shop store from the resort. They had different dolls, stuffed animals, costumes that kids love.
Day 3
after breakfast, we checked out and head out to Clifton hill - Niagara Falls for some in-town activities; such as sky wheel & indoor games, bowling. Then lunch and returned to Toronto.
I hope this gives inspiration to parents with little children for a short enjoyable trip in the cold winter season.
